How to Sell My Timeshare And Avoid The Pitfalls
How do you sell your timeshare? Well, I could tell you that selling on your own is a good route – but that would be a flat out lie. In the past you might have been able to sell your timeshare on your own – but now it's not at all easy. The biggest reason being that there are so many different pitfalls (scams, fraud, competition, advertising, etc...) that you have to deal with.
My personal opinion is this – the best way to sell is to find a reliable company and let them do the back breaking grunt-work of selling. Here is exactly what you have to do when finding a reliable company:
Step One:
Hire an agency to do the hard work. Finding a good company isn't very hard to do. And good company can save you a lot of time in selling. I will recommend a good resource at the end, but just remember that you can also get rid of your timeshare a lot faster through a company versus selling on your own.
Step Two:
Make sure that the company you are dealing with is legitimate. Unfortunately, we live in a world where some people will try to scam you out of practically anything of value. Do your research and figure out if the company is an established business or a just a fly by night scam artist.
Step Three:
Get it in writing. Some companies will take shortcuts unintentionally. Others will do it on purpose. Regardless of the intent, make sure that you get your agreement in writing. And if you have the time, have a lawyer look it over to make sure that it is the deal that you had discussed with the company.
